Alumni Board

From the greatest school to the greatest city, our mission is to support the social, charitable and professional goals of The Ohio State University family in the New York City Metropolitan Area, alumni and friends alike.

The deep sense of community felt at OSU is second to none, and we’ve brought that to the Big Apple with us. Throughout the year we come together for game watches, networking, intramural sports, community service and fundraising. Vice President/Secretary: Assists the president and other officers with their duties, serves as president when she/he is prevented from carrying out the duties of his/her office for various reasons; Ensures meetings are effectively organized and minuted; Maintains effective records and administration.

Interests/Hobbies: Trying new things in NYC and volunteering at soup kitchens

Treasurer: Responsible for control of the club's money, it's collection, and disbursement, as well as maintaing club's financial records.

Interests/Hobbies: GoT, Mentoring kids through the iMentoring program, reading

Favorite OSU Tradition: Watching OSU football with friends while enjoying Buckeyes!

Game Watch Chair -  responsible for ensuring all game watches are successful, devising schedules to staff gamedays, coordinating with venues and

outreach to club members.

Michael Ross

Graduation Year: 2007

Degree: B.S.B.A Fisher College of Business; Logistics Management and Operations Management

 

Advancement Chair:  Responsible for setting goals and defining the mission of the club through volunteerism, scholarship and community engagement; Oversees the scholarship programming and execution of the process to award club scholarships to current and future students.

Current Industry: Higher Education

Interests/Hobbies: Adventures in Arts and Culture in NYC, hiking, boating, and exploring the wilderness beyond

Favorite OSU Tradition: With the hustle of NYC you forget about some of your college years -but nobody ever forgets The Game! 

 

Volunteerism Chair: Responsible for identifying volunteer opportunities, planning, and outreach to club members to ensure successful events.

Communications Chair: Responsible for managing and directing the club's internal and external communications, including social media

 Adrianne Varwig

Graduation Year: 2008

Degree: Theater, Cultural Anthropology

Current Industry: Digital PR and Advertising

Interests/Hobbies: Travel, live music, singing/karaoke, reading, cats, coloring (and other crafty things)

Favorite OSU Tradition: O-H-I-O chant in the stadium (also as an exchange with random strangers wearing Buckeye Gear)

 

Social Media Chair: Responsible for day-to-day management of social media channels.

Website Chair: Responsible for keeping the club website updated and timely.

Open Positions:

Compliance Officer:  Responsibilities include working with Treasurer in ensuring the board complies with its outside regulatory requirements and internal policies.

 

Fundraising Chair:  Responsible for all fundraising efforts, including coordinating with the board to provide a good outcome to each fundraising event. They are responsible for keeping record of the money and transferring it to the treasurer for appropriate deposit.

 

Networking Chair: Act as the chief engagement officer for the organization, to create and foster relationships with other organizations and individuals to further our goals as a club.

 

Social Chair: Responsible for creating and executing all club social functions that are held, keeping in contact with all other officers to incorporate the potential alumni both in and out of NYC, and collaborating with OSUAA Columbus to coordinate events to promote the organization.
